As a Community Engagement Coordinator for South Chicago, Victory relentlessly advocates for the transformative power of parental leadership in educational spaces. In her role, Victory endeavors to empower individuals by honoring their unique perspectives derived from lived experiences. She studied Human Development and Family Sciences / Nonprofit Leadership at the University of North Texas, and after went on to earn her Masters in Sociology from the University of Chicago. Throughout her educational career, her praxis amplified the Black, Queer, Feminist lens for the sake of collective Black and Brown liberation.
Victory comes to K1C with several years of racial and educational equity experience. Prior to this role, Victory partnered with schools and families to ensure the most inclusive educational experiences for students with societally impacted identities. When she is not furthering racial equity work, Victory enjoys filling her apartment with giant plants, binge watching TLC reality shows, and counting down the days until Spring.
