Daisy Carrera
Manager, Community Engagement-School Partnership
She/her/hers
dcarrera@kidsfirstchicago.orgAs the Manager of Community Engagement-School Partnership, Daisy oversees and manages the relationships with our partner schools. She works to create efficient education experiences to strengthen family/school collaboration by providing workshops and important resources to schools and families.
Daisy previously served as Community Coordinator in a PreK-8 school district. There, she was responsible for maintaining strong relationships with community partners, created programs and initiatives to help support students/families in need, and facilitated professional development for families, staff, and community leaders. She also served as a racial healing practitioner through TRHT Greater Chicago (Truth, Racial Healing, & Transformation), a community-led movement designed to promote racial equity, heal communities, and transform systems by focusing on narrative change, racial healing circles, and systemic policy.
Growing up as a first generation college graduate, Daisy understands the complexities of navigating through a system that is continuously changing and hopes to be a bridge of the gap that keeps historically excluded students and families from succeeding.
Daisy is a graduate of Western Illinois University, was recognized as 2022 Latinos in Lake County Recipient by the Office of the Lake County States Attorney, Liderazgo 2020 cohort graduate from Mano a Mano, and holds a certificate from Chicago Booth, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business “Choosing Leadership” Spring 2026.
She enjoys staying physically active, exploring local coffee shops, time with family and friends, and basking in all things Summertime Chicago.
