On April 30, 2024, Kids First Chicago's Parent Advisory Board (PAB) met for the first time at Kids First’s new offices. More than 30 PAB members from across the city attended.
The agenda for the meeting included a report from the PAB's Executive Committee, updates from recent district community forums on the five-year strategic plan, and the latest developments from Kids First’s Parent-Led Elected School Board Task Force. Most importantly, the gathering provided an opportunity for the parents and caregivers to enjoy dinner together!
The PAB will meet again in June for a Neighborhood Bus Tour with Chicago historian Dilla, exploring the city’s rich history and culture together.
Finally, we announced Kids First Chicago's Parent Leadership Fellowship (PLF) is actively recruiting new leaders from the South Side. Nominations for the 2024-2025 cohort are open through May 31, and interviews start May 15. The new cohort will be announced in June, and information sessions will be scheduled throughout the month of May. The 2024-2025 fellowship will kick-off in fall 2024 and ultimately join Kids First’s PLF alums from the West Side, Southwest Side, and Northwest Side.
