Rebecca Daen, Policy & Engagement Associate

Rebecca Daen is the Policy and Engagement Associate for Kids First Chicago. Previously, she was a Teach For America corps member, where she taught 11th and 12th grade World Literature, American Literature, AP Literature, and Law Theory courses in West Garfield Park. After leaving the classroom, she worked as a Community Engagement Coordinator with Kids First Chicago on the West Side of Chicago for a year. She is excited to continue to build upon her strong relationships within the region to empower high-quality schools and community-members to advocate for their communities.

Rebecca is originally from rural Western Massachusetts, but has enjoyed city life since moving to Chicago in 2014. She received a B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA where she majored in English Literature and minored in Italian. She received her M.A. in Education from Dominican University, through a partnership with Teach for America. Outside of work, she enjoys running with her dog, Ollie, and hopes to complete 10 marathons before her 30th birthday!
