Vanessa Espinoza serves as the Sr. Manager of Communications and Accessibility at Kids First Chicago (K1C), a cross-functional role she transitioned into in January 2026. In this capacity, Vanessa works to ensure that language is never a barrier to participating in K1C’s programs or becoming a knowledgeable and powerful parent advocate

Since joining K1C in 2021, Vanessa has utilized her decade of experience in dual-language interpretation to foster knowledge and leadership within Chicago’s public school system. Her current focus specializes in media and communications training for Spanish speakers, empowering them to lead and advocate effectively.

Vanessa’s professional dedication is an extension of her 23 years as a proud parent volunteer in Chicago Public Schools. Driven by a passion for parent empowerment, she finds her primary inspiration in her husband and three children. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys volunteering at her children’s former school, solving puzzles, watching and playing soccer, and spending time with her family and friends.
