As the Director of Development, Emily partners with community leaders and advocates to invest in K1C’s mission and drive impact for Chicago Public School students and their families. Emily previously served as Senior Director of Engagement & Philanthropy at Ignite, where she oversaw donor relations, events, and corporate fundraising. She also served as the first Director of Development for Greater West Town Community Development Project.

Emily has dedicated her career to securing resources for people and communities left behind by societal progress. She believes that growth means nothing if it’s not equitable – rising tides do not raise all boats – and that philanthropy can generate a more equitable future.

Emily received her B.A. in Economics from Ripon College. She lives in Bronzeville with her husband and two sons, one of whom is a cat. Emily enjoys city walks, country strolls, and morning coffee.
