The Living Room - CPS–CTU Negotiations (Open to all)

Living Room Program Description (February 2024)

Join us for our February 2024 Living Room meeting where we’ll dive into the latest developments in Chicago Public Schools (CPS). We’ll break down the ongoing CPS–Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) negotiations and highlight what these talks mean for you and your children. We’ll also explore CPS finances so you can stay informed and feel empowered to advocate in the weeks and months ahead. This event is designed to be interactive, comfortable, and community-driven. Bring your questions, concerns, and ideas, so we can work together to best support our students and schools.

Metrics for Success

This meeting will be a success if parents:

  • Receive an update on the current CPS–CTU negotiations, including implications for their children’s schools and classrooms.

  • Gain an understanding of CPS’s budget situation for the remainder of this school year and have a preview of potential changes for next year.

  • Feel more prepared to advocate for their children, ask informed questions at their schools, and share relevant information with other parents.
