The Living Room - Introduction to Special Education and IEP Training

Equip for Equality's training will provide an overview of Special Education Law. The presentation will include information about the rights of students and with disabilities and the rights of their parents. Topics that will be discussed include eligibility to receive special education services, school discipline, language access rights, and more.

• Be able to identify key special education legal rights and terminology
• Learn how to advocate for your child’s special education rights and what to do if they disagree with their child’s school team
• Learn about your rights to interpretation and translation within the school setting
